I am commanded by the Army Council to acknowledge the receipt of Mr Read's letter of the 13th instant, No.40076/18, and, in reply, to acquaint you that they are glad to avail themselves of the offer of the services of Mr T.Dallin, Assistant Auditor
on leave from Hong Kong, for duty in the Finance Department of this Office: and I am to inform you that the gentleman in question took
up his appointment therein on the 26th instant.
I am further to state that the rate of pay attached to the post which Mr Dallin is now filling is 2250 (two hundred and fifty pounds) per annum, inclusive.
The Council, therefore, propose to issue this sum to Kr Dallin from Army Funds, provided that your Department concurs in the adjustment of his existing salary on that basie.
